Stingless bees produce less honey - about 27 times lesser - than normal honey bees. That is why we never take a single, precious drop for granted.
Stingless bees’ nests are different from that of normal honey bees. The latter’s nests are primarily built with beeswax while stingless bees mix their wax with plant resins to make Propolis, their main building material. Propolis is utilised by the bees for its powerful anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, and anti-microbial properties that ward off bacteria, viruses and fungi. As such, Kelulut Honey is known to have a higher nutritional value as it is stored in small pots covered with Propolis.
Stingless bees are smaller than honey bees. This allows them to enter deeper into a larger number of flowers to collect a diverse range of bioactive compounds, resulting in a honey that contains more vitamins and minerals from nature that are highly beneficial.
